Coffee Region

Latin America, Africa/Arabia and Asia Pacific are three main regions suitable for growing coffee bean. Coffee originated in Latin America taste nutty and with higher acidity, African/Arabian coffee bean delivers a subtle fruity aroma and taste whilst Asia Pacificˇ¦s coffee is more full-bodied with strong palate.

Coffee Bean

Arabica and Robusta are two main types of coffee bean with different characteristics. The former normally found at Latin American countries such as Brazil and Colombia with mellow and rounded coffee taste. Robusta is widely grown in the Asia Pacific regions like Vietnam and Indonesian that tastes bright and strong, normally will be blended with Arabica coffee bean to reduce its bright coffee strength.

Roasting

Roasting duration is other crucial factor that affects the coffee taste. The longer it is roasted, the bitter the taste and darker it looks whilst tastes higher acidity and looks lighter if roasted for shorter period. Technical description for magnitude of roasting from light to strong can be identified as Light, Cinnamon, Medium, High, City, Full City, French and Italian.
